The High Atlas · the Agafay desert · Marrakech
A night in a riad in the village of Imlil, high in the Atlas, and a night in a classified hotel in Marrakech: the Imlil waterfalls with a guide, a walking loop through the neighbouring hamlets, then Marrakech with its square and souks, and the Agafay desert just outside the city.
Departure from Rabat at 18:00 outside Rabat-Agdal station, and from Casablanca at 20:00 outside Casa-Voyageurs. Straight on to Imlil, rooms allocated on arrival and free time to rest.
Breakfast at 09:00, then out to the Imlil waterfalls with an experienced guide, and a discovery loop through the village and neighbouring hamlets (about an hour's walk there and back, fine for beginners). Back to the coach and on to Marrakech, with lunch in Tahanaout. Check in at the hotel, rooms allocated and free time, then out to the Agafay desert for the evening under the moon with dinner in the open air (optional), a night tour by calèche and a visit to Jemaa el-Fna and the Koutoubia.
For anyone who chose the balloon: up at 06:00 and transfer to Oulad Ben Rahmoune, preparations for take-off and sunrise at nearly 2,000 metres, an hour or more in the air and breakfast on the spot. For everyone else: breakfast at the hotel at 09:30, then check-out. After that, out to the Marrakech palm grove, quad biking (optional) and a break over a glass of Saharan tea. The journey home leaves at 16:00 for Casablanca and then Rabat.
